Our first wedding show at the Big Southwest Wedding Fair at the Bath and West Showground was an exciting milestone for Norlight. As our first appearance in the wedding world, we weren’t quite sure what to expect - but the response confirmed what we’ve been seeing more and more, that festival-style weddings with boutique glamping are becoming a clear favourite.
From the moment the doors opened, we spoke to couples and venues who loved the idea of turning a wedding into a full weekend experience. Not just a single day, but a relaxed outdoor celebration where friends and family can all stay together, unwind, connect and truly enjoy the special celebration.
Why Glamping Weddings Are Capturing Hearts
One of the biggest conversations we had throughout the show was about space and experience. Many stunning wedding venues offer beautiful grounds, reception rooms and communal areas, but have limited on-site accommodation. Boutique glamping offers the perfect solution.
Couples were especially drawn to the idea of creating a temporary glamping village that feels magical, sociable and personal.
Some of the most popular ideas included:
• Luxury bell tents for guests staying on site
• A larger, fully furnished honeymoon tent for the couple
• Festoon lighting, bunting and fire pits to create atmosphere
• Communal spaces where everyone can gather long into the evening
• Optional extras such as hot tubs for a real festival feel
These weddings feel less formal and far more immersive, giving couples the chance to spend the whole weekend celebrating with the people they love most.

Working with Wedding Venues and Trusted Partners
The show was also a great opportunity to connect with wedding venues across Somerset and the South West. Many see glamping as a natural extension of what they already offer - allowing them to increase guest accommodation without permanent building work.
We’re particularly pleased to be supporting Everards Farm, an exclusive Somerset wedding venue, by providing our luxury canvas tents as part of their accommodation offering.
We also work closely with local partners such as Phola, based at Cathedral Park, who supply stunning wood-fired Kolkol hot tubs - a popular addition for couples planning a relaxed, festival-inspired celebration.

Looking Ahead
The Big Southwest Wedding Fair confirmed that glamping weddings are more than a passing trend. They’re a meaningful shift towards weddings that are relaxed, experience-led and shared over an entire weekend.
We’re now busy following up enquiries from both venues and couples, and we’re excited about what lies ahead as this side of the business continues to grow.
A big thank you to the team at Bath and West Showground for organising such a well-run and welcoming event. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
